Tree song;

Tibouchina Noelle, the most glorious flowering tree.

Please click the pictures

Tibouchina Noelle can be grown as tree or shrub. I have left it to grow into a tree probably around 5m high. The trunk is a wonderful host for orchids. Many different lichen have also taken this tree as host to display there wonderful patterns.

Believe it or not:

"Carefree" refers more to the plant's attitude than to your workload.

  6. A beautiful tree and photos. I don't like the way the leaves stick to you when you try to clean them up.

  9. I love it. We actually tried a Tibouchina in our garden years ago and could not believe that it lived for several years, over wintered in the ground, but eventually the cold won out. For now I'll think of it here in your garden. Beautiful.

  12. Hi Titania, i just followed your comment from Stephanie's and i've opened all your blogs which are all maybe inactive till this last one. It's good i've opened it with Tibouchina, which i didn't know can grow to a tree. I've just seen this here in so very small shrubs in pots. You are right it is a glorious tree, beautiful and maybe love of butterflies as it is fully laden with flowers. Which part of NSW are you? thanks.

  17. That certainly is a glorious tree! I haven't seen anything like that before. It reminds me of a tree smothered with Clematis blossoms. The shading of colors from lavender pink to almost white is beautiful.
