Gorgeous captures, Trudi! Lady Elliot Island looks like a fantastic place! Would love to visit there! What a sunrise! Superb! Hope you have a lovely weekend!
That's a beautiful shot of the island! Love the blue blue sea. The island looks small though. But I am sure the place is wonderful. And glad to see that the turtle made it back to the sea.
Ann, I think so, boats can't come in because it is surrounded by a coral reef; and also because of the turtles nesting there. The island is also full of birds. People and supplies are flown in by a small plane.
What a great island spot. I'll have to look the place up and google earth for a closer look. I wonder haw many thousands and thousands of years turtles have made this journey. These shots make for a nice photo essay.

Gorgeous photos! The island looks like a giant turtle itself, floating in the ocean.
ReplyDeleteGreat sequence of photos. What a gorgeous island. I'm glad the turtle made it back to the sea.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful skies, and love the turtle's journey.
ReplyDeleteYou were so lucky to be at that exact spot when the turtle was heading from shore to go to the sea. I love this image!

Such calming tropical scenes. It is horrible to think a cyclone is heading that way.
ReplyDeleteIs this island protected?

Hi Titania and thank you for these images! They woke up my imagination, and I almost felt that sand under my feet...

ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky....I have tried several times to meet sea turtles but they always fail to show up.
